Trumps is a recognised wholesaler, distributor and processor to retail, food service, and manufacturing industries. While we are a medium size business, we work with large-scale customers including Coles and Woolworths. A family business growing for over 80 years, we are now in an exciting phase of development and scaling up.

Due to this growth, Trumps is now looking for an inaugural COO to join them in their Rocklea office on a full-time basis.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic COO to help take the business into its next phase. As COO you will collaborate with our Managing Director and work with the Senior Leadership team to update and implement business operations and internal communications processes. Senior leaders from People and Culture, Procurement, Warehousing and Logistics, and Safety and Quality Control will all report to you, and you will work with them regularly to ensure successful operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced operations leader to make real changes, pivotal to the ongoing success of the business.

As COO you will have oversight of each of our operational facilities. Although a large portion of your time will be spent in our Rocklea facility and neighbouring Brisbane sites, there will be some annual travel required to other sites around Australia.

Within your day-to-day responsibilities, some of these will include:

• The management of special projects in-line with business objectives and resolving operational issues as they arise. 
• Overseeing daily operations by communicating with senior leaders, ensuring smooth processes, efficiency, and compliance across our business;
• Developing and implement strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the business operations and drive positive change;
• Implementing clear communication procedures and policies across the business to ensure transparency, and improve inter-departmental collaboration;
• Analysing internal operations, identifying process improvement opportunities, and implement changes and business operations procedures; and
• Collaborate with top executives to align business strategies and drive growth.

As COO you will be second-in-charge and right-hand to the Managing Director. 

About You

As our inaugural COO you will be an experienced executive leader with strong change management skills, demonstrated experience and the ability to work with people from all backgrounds.

You will bring your operational skills, including stakeholder management and strategic oversight, to this role and make it your own. Our corporate pillars include caring and kindness, and we expect everyone in our business to act this way toward each other.

Experience working in the food industry, with demonstrated experience in forward planning and delivering to major food retailers like Coles and Woolworths will be pivotal to your success.

In addition, ideal candidates will have:

• Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or production organisation
• Strong leadership and executive management skills
• People management skills, including performance management
• Experience in change management and implementing business operating procedures; and
• An understanding of corporate risk and governance
